Another interesting fact as it relates to “those who assume he’s trying to resurrect the old Soviet Union empire” is that it was a twisting of a quote Putin made. The actual quote that was interpreted by media to promote this idea was “Those who do not mourn the passing of the Soviet Union are heartless. Those who want to resurrect it are mindless.” Kind of puts an end to this well circulated rumor, doesn’t it?

In reply to Janet Sinclair. Putin may be going beyond what white hats were willing to do. I can't help but put his actions in context with the Saturn Return of NATO's 1991 agreement "not to move missiles one inch towards the east." He tried asking them not to, over and over again, for 30 years. It didn't work. No sense repeating the same cycle over again, given how many nuclear missiles have pushed up against Russia's border already, the situation becoming more and more dangerous. Maybe I'll write a post on this. Meanwhile, this morning, going to adhere to my new plan, a once a week post for greenacresvillage.org.
