I balance preoccupation with son Colin’s evolving situation with centering practices

Meanwhile, I’m attempting to remain centered and grounded in this whirling dervish of a 3D world. Actually, I wish it was a whirling dervish world . . . Instead, we are continuously threatened with looming chaos. How much is “real,” how much internet fear-mongering? Impossible to say.

I witnessed the whirling dervishes perform, in Konya, their home town, when I visited Turkey, back in my 50s. This followed my own wake up-call, when I was 26, ignited by a night-long whirling ceremony I was internally driven to perform. This unconscious ritual awakened me to my sovereign self, at one with all.

(And to begin that journey, sent me to the hospital, where I almost died.)

I’m now doing my daily practices — yoga, chikung, taichi — in our 12-foot diameter yurt on the platform outside. The yurt is a natural centering, calming device, and when I go in there, I just naturally stand in the exact center of the circle to begin.

I’m spending more time on caring bridge than here right now (two posts there, so far, today). And since son Colin’s healing journey plumbs the depths of us all, it’s much more interesting than the four memes I share here. But what the hell, here goes!

P.S. It may be that “covid” will prove to be THE Great Awakener, as contradictions continue to spill over and spread, muddying the waters of even those whose masks, and distancing, and boosters, and slavish compliance aim to keep them forever “pure.”
