MEME STREAM, with commentary: Hijacking the Rainbow — and beyond

Walking through Goat Park today, as usual I had to pass by what is to me, locally, the most prominent “fuck you” to anyone who doesn’t go along with the trans phenomenon. Who, in fact, thinks that the trans movement has hijacked the rainbow. Yuck.

The name of this sculpture is FLEET/ing. Would that this were the case!

Would that more of us would stand tall and not just fall blindly off the politically correct cliff.

I’d like to think that the “trans” phenomenon is fairly new. But no. It has a long history.

I agree. This phenomenon got a big boost from late ’60s and early ’70s feminism. (I identify the date span, in this case, not from research, but from personal experience.)

Unfortunately, I too, was culturally hoodwinked into “fighting for women’s rights” — to be just like men! And incidentally, to hate men. That brainwashing did work, for awhile on me.

Not that the old roles for women were any better. Indeed, housekeeping and mothering may have been worse, since neither role was monetized; and therefore: considered distinctly inferior.

THAT is still true. We’d like to think it’s because mothering especially, is a sacred act, that to monetize it would make a mockery of its function (not to mention its necessity in an age when fewer and fewer young people are having children).

(Notice the role money plays in culture!)

I remember being excited to find out that Women’s Studies would become part of the college curriculum.

And doubly excited when Ms magazine launched, in 1971.

I look back on that time now and shudder.

Here are some memes that I’ve collected lately. Just posting them helps me to “get my rocks off.”

That one made me LOL.

Here’s one along the same theme.

This one, given what just went down in Minnesota, and now, all the research as to just how many of these shootings are committed by (likely medicated) trans “women,” makes me shudder.

Here’s one that shows the insane logic of trans.

And finally, the best one of all, focusing on how “identity” markers pretend to determine “reality.”

This morning, as I was just about back to my car, another car drove in and parked right beside me. A young man got out of the car, opened the trunk, and there was a toddler, looking curious and vulnerable. His Dad was about to put him in a stroller and take him for a walk. Good. At least some young ones are still marrying, raising children. And it’s not just the mothers; it’s the fathers too.
