It appears that we are already well into the year when all that we have taken for granted dissolves. And it’s not just malevolent actors on earth that want to do us in, as in:

It’s something far “worse” — said from within my all-too-human point of view.
Tom Bunzel is on twitter/X, where I found another of his essays, deeply interesting, and far more optimistic, at least it appears to me, given that he hearkens back to what indigenous peoples have to teach us about their own communion with all that is.
I excerpt his final two paragraphs:
