Reflections on Deconstructing EDUCATION AS INDOCTRINATION

When did the dumbing down of education begin?

Hmmm . . . Well, first of all, what does the word “education” actually mean, etmologically? I know we in our culture tend to follow the philosophy of John Locke, for whom a child’s mind is a “tabula rasa,” blank slate, and therefore to educate is to fill the child’s mind with “ideas” gleaned from the culture of which he or she is a part.

But what really, does the word education mean? Actually, the opposite! In western society, the original view of education hearkens back to the ancient Greeks, an inscription on the Temple of Apollo at Delphi, and is often ascribed to Socrates: KNOW THYSELF.

In other words, to educate is “to pull out,” not “to put in.”

This changes everything.

It’s likely that the modern Lockean form of education came about with the industrialization of society, when peasants left their villages for the cities, to be trained in schools as obedient workers for fill various slots, like robots. Amazingly enough, all that is still around.

It may be that we will live to thank the woke folks, the folks who push CRT, trans, sex ed for third graders, masks and social distancing, for the demolition of education as “to put in,” i.e., as  indoctrination. Because an equal and opposite reaction to this nonsense was inevitable. Indeed, as far back as 2021, parents have begun to question the doctrine; and with that shift, you know the kids can’t be far behind with questions, questions . . .

Oh, and, for those who think themselves adults, but who were also indoctrinated by western education and did not manage to break through, and who therefore, consider Big Daddy Government (govern-mind), i.e., socialism, as the solution to all our ills, ponder this.

Next step, coming right up, digital currency.

Get it yet?

Which reminds me: I do wonder if Trump misjudged when he decided to screen Sound of Freedom and broadcast it to the world.

I presume he thinks that he can now actually do this without polarizing the world further; that, in fact, due to all the lawfare indictments against him a lot of people indoctrinated to hate him no longer do. True? I hope he’s correct.

If he’s right, then we are truly quite far along deconstructing the education as indoctrination agenda.

And furthermore, to hell with politics, it shouldn’t matter. Nothing should matter more than saving the world’s children from the horrors, formerly conducted in secret,  now blasting into the public arena. As should be.

Dedicated, passionate environmentalists, take note. We need you.

Okay. Enough of the tough stuff. Time to laugh.
