Still immersed in Lothlorien, I take a walk with dear neighbor

Walking with dear neighbor (I’ll call her “Carol”) this early morning, I told her about the weekend adventure, adding that it really did feel like I had been transported to a different time/space field, a different “dimension,” though perhaps, I AM beginning to feel the effects of dementia. Or, as I mentioned to her, there’s also the fact that not only do I, in my 84th year, have Uranus returning for the first and only time to it’s natal place — I had discussed what this means with her on several earlier walks — but: I also have another outer planet, 165-year cycled Neptune, for the last several years transiting the root point of my chart. And given that Neptune (dreams, visions, shining presence, universal love; also delusions, confusion, illusions, addictions . . .) was at the Midheaven I was born — and that transit Neptune in Aries is now exactly opposing it’s natal position at my IC root point, this sets me up for disillusion, disappearance, confusion, at the root. And that likely includes my location on planet earth, including the dreamlike adventure I experienced at Lothlorien, as if transported to another dimension.

Reminder to self:  THE PLAN is for  paralyzed, nerve-damaged son Colin Cudmore and I to move to Colorado sometime next year to live with or near son Sean, if and when he buys a large enough house, and/or enough land for us to each have a tiny house. But WHO KNOWS? And that’s the thing about Neptune. I need to be at one with the unknowing.

Anyway, I’m teaching Carol astrology as we walk, these days. Now she adds Neptune to her list of outer planets that deeply affect humans, both personally and generationally.

So yes, I was transported to a different time/space field, a different “dimension,” at Lothlorien, itself rooted 43 years ago, and reminding me of an old hippie enclave (I imagine I’m one of the few original ’60s hippies still alive.) I noticed, while there, so many many younger folks coming up to me (most of whom I don’t know or don’t remember meeting) to honor me as one who has been on this path of creating and encouraging various forms of community for so many many decades. It reminds me of the same honoring, at the Crone event I attended recently with my daughter-in-law Sue. On another walk, I had told Carol about this event also. She loves the fact that I actually get to receive honoring. How many do? How many people remain conscious and aware, while growing very old? How many are reminded so often of their past “accomplishments” while they are still alive?

I am truly blessed.

Carol loves these stories. Today, I also I told her about the first issue of OpenSpace magazine, back in November 1978, and how I have its cover now framed, above my toilet. Took her to see it when we got back. Its artistry blew her away.

In fact, the type of artistry of that OpenSpace cover reminds me of the same at Lothlorien.

And of course, rituals, ceremonies, shrines, all part of that old tribal way of being that Lothlorien evokes.

Tomorrow I will post more photos from Lothlorien, taken on last Saturday’s personal Tour with Danielle. I will focus mostly on tiny shrines, altars, which, at this place, always feature stones, so many stones! Also, a glorious unfinished painting! Plus several statues. I notice how some of these human traces are very much decaying, and others very much alive. Reminding me of Athens, Greece, back in 1993, walking through ancient ruins that dot contemporary life.

THE RUINS OF TIME

Here’s a foretaste:

On our walk this morning, as soon as I stopped explaining Neptune to her, Carol asked: “What addiction do you have?”

Me: “the same one you have: “I’M ADDICTED TO INTENSITY.”

Shocked, she blurted out: “YES! THAT’S WHAT I’M ADDICTED TO, INTENSITY!”

”And you? My teacher looked up, his left eyebrow arched, pencil poised. 'I want to do a paper on the concept of time.’” I mumbled, timidly. 'Time?' He sniffed. “I wouldn’t touch the subject. Too difficult.” — AK, 1967
