THRESHOLDS IN TIME AND SPACE. A Multidimensional Philosophical Reflection Applied to the Material World

A local friend of mine asked if she could bring a friend of hers to our recently instituted — and unfortunately canceled for June — lunch meeting for local crones. Because she wanted to understand the philosophy behind Green Acres Village.

Our “crone group” began in early spring, when, at the local Farmer’s Market, one 65 year old crone asked me and another crone (the “local friend” above) if we could meet sometimes, that she is so lonely. So far we’ve met twice. WE want this to continue as an intimate group, so no more than five or six. So far we have the original three — with two more wanting to join us. But when monthly meetings are canceled due to unforeseen circumstances?

I told the local friend that I would prepare something to send to her friend about this place. And when I read through the following piece, I realized that it is extremely relevant for all of us, no matter who we are, what we’re about, or where we live. Why? Because . . .

Too often, we think in 3D dichotomies: example, re: Immigration:

“The world is one, all borders are unnecessary and cruel; people need to be able to go and live wherever they want.”

Or:

“Borders must to be policed and enforced everywhere, with impenetrable walls, whether in a neighborhood or between religions, ideologies, nations, etc.

Pics are not included, but you can find plenty of pics on the greenacresvillage.org site.

”And you? My teacher looked up, his left eyebrow arched, pencil poised. 'I want to do a paper on the concept of time.’” I mumbled, timidly. 'Time?' He sniffed. “I wouldn’t touch the subject. Too difficult.” — AK, 1967
