Tomorrow’s A Big Day . . .

. . . and I won’t be posting again until Friday.

Why? Because my other son Sean (who is in his second Saturn Return, recently retired, and moving from Boston area, where he’s been all his life, to Boulder Colorado), and granddaughter Kiera (who went to the University of Colorado and still livess there), now 22, are driving east to west with a trailer and Sean’s big dog Lily, stopping here this evening to spend two nights and one day. I haven’t seen either of them for I think it’s been FOUR YEARS. Way too long.

Odd fact, that makes one wonder whether we do actually have free will: I met and got together with Kiera’s grandfather, Patrick Cudmore (he died just after she was born), in Boulder Colorado, while attending summer school there. He was an architectural student. Kiera had no idea of this fact when she applied there. And, wouldn’t you know, she graduated with an architectural degree . . .

So. Excited. As is son Colin. Maybe we’ll get a photo or two of the four of us.

I anticipate bedlam, actually, with two big dogs (Colin’s Kona, remember, broke his leg not too long ago and is still not allowed to play), and little Shadow, who will, no doubt, be VERY territorial. Likely Tiger cat will remain outside! Glad it’s no longer freezing cold.

It’s 8:43 PM. Hope they arrive soon, as I’m usually in bed by this time. Colin thawed out some of his great chili for the occasion. And we’ll open a bottle of Dan’s ginger-infused wine (stored in basement) to celebrate our reunion after so long.

    Beautiful, Ann
    Just Beautiful
    Take it all in
    Every bit of it
What a marvelous New Year gift in every way
    to every single one
    The thread of Love
    …remains

”And you? My teacher looked up, his left eyebrow arched, pencil poised. 'I want to do a paper on the concept of time.’” I mumbled, timidly. 'Time?' He sniffed. “I wouldn’t touch the subject. Too difficult.” — AK, 1967
