Faced, Again, with ChatGPT: Jordan Sather, Jordan Peterson, Clif High

February 3, 2023

About a month ago, I posted for the first time on ChatGPT (which I mistakenly noted as gtp . . .).

Faced with ChatGTP

Would that it had been the last. But no.

Here Are the Exams CHATgpt has passed so far

The exams include business, law, and medicine. What are we to make of this development? Well, for one thing, it replaces left brain academia, where people are trained to be able to pass exams.

Backstory:

CHATgpt was founded by Sam Altman (who learned to code at eight years old) and Elon Musk, in 2015. In 2018 Elon Musk quit. In 2019, CHATgpt teamed up with Microsoft, with $1 B to the company. In January 2023, Microsoft added another $10 B, saying it wanted to introduce CHATgpt into all its products.

CHATgpt was structured to have an obvious political bias, and in fact, as Jordan Sather says, functions as a “globalist wet dream.”

In his presentation,

Do Not Let the Chatbot Brainwash You

he references this exchange:

Jordan Peterson senses that CHATbot may possibly fuel a revolution akin to that produced by the Gutenberg Press.

Both Jordans are deeply concerned. As am I.

However!

Clif High says that CHATgpt and other “large AIs” are not yet capable of “passing the Turing Test.

He claims that CHATgpt, as well as any other “large AI,” will sooner or later,  “go psychotic” . . .

Do listen to at least the first eight minutes of this recent broadcast, where he elucidates AI very well, at least for me.

Basic message: no matter how much data is “aggregated,” AI does not produce authentic creation (novelty).

(Which reminds me of back when I was in graduate school in philosophy, in 1969. After one year, I found myself desperate for “real learning,” by which I meant, the introduction of novelty. Everything I was absorbing from philosophy books and classes felt like data points going into a preset grid. I wanted, needed, to blast through the grid. This grid, unfortunately, has captured academia.)

What keeps us tied up in “chains of causation”?

Yesterday’s post took you to a personal story, which in turn radiated into an extended meditation, on the subtle and blatant interstices of psychological, cultural, and philosophical ramifications of the mysterious phenomena of death and dying.

Here it is again. I do hope you sit down for a time and read it!

BWIWD FINAL

It’s more and more clear that we are inside of a critical period of time that Clif High identified as The Big Ugly, the acceleration of which, he intoned, in several audio offerings yesterday —

Shrapnel Incoming

Release Language

— begins today, February 2.

February 1-2 (sunset through sunset) also just happens to be Imbolc, honoring the ancient pagan celebration of the point midway between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox.

The quiescence of winter is already beginning to stir. Which makes fiery people like me, glad, even impatient!  With Sun, Ascendant, and Mars in fiery Sagittarius, I cannot help but reach for the budding of spring.

Which makes it no coincidence, I think, that I happened to recover an old piece of paper recently and plopped it right back on my desktop (my real desktop), where it used to sit and has always belonged. Who was the author? When did I write these incredibly profound words down? At least 30 years ago, maybe longer. I’ve been pondering them ever since.

You might say that impatience is what keeps us mesmerized by 3D, embroiled in chains of causation that we, ourselves, without realizing it, simply by our attitude, initiate!

If you have trouble reading my now faded writing, here it is:

The moment you are impatient,

you recognize the force of time,

that places in your way

the obstacles of space,

and starts a new chain of causation.
