I remember my doctor dad wrestling with the question of abortion. The clinic he was part of decided to allow it. He found out what he really thought when he found himself resigning, and founding another clinic in an adjacent town.
No abortion for him.
Of course as a ’60s feminist, there was a time when I was all for abortion, if needed for the mother’s health, whether mental or physical. In fact I too, had one abortion, back in 1973.
On the surface, at the time, I thought nothing of it.
Deep down, it bothered me immensely.
So here we are:
Have you noticed, whenever there is a “hot-button issue” that grabs everybody, no matter what “side” you’re on, memes ignite and spread like wildfire?
