OPENSPACE IS A VERB

 

The essays collected into this ebook were published as weekly columns in late 1977, at the invitation of the newspaper publisher when I returned to my hometown, Twin Falls, Idaho, back in my early 30s.

After the seventh column, the publisher took me out to lunch to explain that he couldn’t continue publishing my columns, because his phone was ringing off the hook with either outraged or thrilled locals, and the newsroom itself had been permeated with my vibration (I’m sure he did not use that word “vibration,” but you get the gist.) So the final column I had prepared got axed. I include it here, underneath the ebook.
