I decided on my 80th birthday, December 19, 2022, that I would retreat four times this birthday year, at solstices and equinoxes. For the first retreat, I chose Turkey Run state park.
For the second retreat, I choose Madison Indiana, near Clifty Falls State Park. (I would have stayed with puppy Shadow in the Inn there, but discovered that State Park prices per night have more than doubled since December.)
I’ve heard the little town of Madison (pop 12,000) is quite vibrant, with a lovely walk along the Ohio river. It’s not quite two hours away from Bloomington.
One caveat: Margaret Menge, in her substack, Crossroads Report, tells us that they are NOT going to test for dioxins in the Ohio river . . .
But that’s the kind of ugly info I want to get away from, for three days and two nights, with no screens, like last time. Just my phone, which is not connected to the internet. Shadow and I leave here tomorrow, get back Monday.
So, don’t expect another post until, likely, Tuesday, March 21.
Have a wonderful and regenerative time, Ann
…and Shadow. Looks like a great spot to be. Love, Janet
Safe travels to ya.
Enjoy the unplug, reconnect self moments.
Always healthy to take a break
