Early this morning, as I was about to finish my usual second cup of morning elixir — on my way downtown to see paralyzed, nerve-damaged, 60-year-old son Colin Cudmore, inventor of the Garden Tower, for our twice-postponed Mother’s Day breakfast at our local Bloomingfoods Coop, just down the street from where he lives — I happened to be holding the cup with hot liquid on my chest as I sat back in my chair while impatiently wrestling with the ipad, and whoops! spilled about a third of it all over my chest. Luckily, I had several layers on.
Well, well, Ann. Welcome to your 84 year Uranus Return, your personal experience of what it’s like to not only stay alive, but to mostly thrive through over eight many decades of interruptive living. Yes, for that is the function of Uranus, to erupt, to disrupt, whatever we have set in place; our plans, our intentions, etc., especially for one such as myself, who, along with others born during 1942-43, have planet Uranus conjunct restrictive, goal-oriented, disciplined, and yes, hopefully, patient Saturn in our natal charts.
Since Uranus (84 years) has a much longer cycle than Saturn (30 years), its meaning, once a full cycle is reached, is also much fuller, deeper, more encompassing. Now that the cycle is completing, I can very much appreciate how my generation, born in 1942-43 — with natal Saturn/Uranus conjunct in early Gemini (for me, at 1° and 7°) — came in to disrupt old mental, cultural programs, and welcome the free conception and expression of ideas.
For 1985-1987 conjunction opposite where it was at my birth, see
CONCEPTUAL REPATTERNING: SaturnUranus in Sagittarius
Transit Uranus now, and for the near future, sits at 1° Gemini, the degree it occupied at my birth.
So, needless to say, I took that near-drastic spill this morning to heart; drove very very carefully down to see Colin. But then, couldn’t even follow through with my Saturnian plan, to tell him about my Uranian experience this morning — due to another Uranus interruption, Colin having mistakenly double-booked us with his nurse’s bi-weekly visit. He would have loved that spill story. Oh well!
Here’s today’s post on the daily blog I keep re: Colin’s seemingly endless paralyzed journey through fiery nerve-damaged hell on earth during which, even so, he somehow manages to inspire all those with whom he comes in contact.

”And you? My teacher looked up, his left eyebrow arched, pencil poised. 'I want to do a paper on the concept of time.’” I mumbled, timidly. 'Time?' He sniffed. “I wouldn’t touch the subject. Too difficult.” — AK, 1967
