What Trump “multiples” tell us about our own personal lives

Just returned from morning walk through campus, with hundreds of IU students streaming by, all — and I do mean ALL, I was paying close attention — either holding their phone, or, more often, bent over over their phones, and/or with earbuds, so you know their phones are in their pockets. Even so, despite 100% student distraction, we did receive plenty of real smiles, thanks to prancing Scampi, who, since they were all looking down, fairly easily interrupted their preoccupation.

And all this distraction despite the glorious autumn day; blue sky (not yet chemtrail criss-crossed), leaves just beginning to turn color and whispering, my body straight and tall and striding fast (thanks body, for making me pay attention to you all these decades).

So very much to be grateful for.

Are the students grateful for their phones? I doubt it. Rather, they take them for granted. Of course they have phones; their “identity” depends on them. Standing waiting for a bus, a group of them, all together, each one isolated, preoccupied, dopamined; their “real friend” their phone!?!

Simply ignoring the authentic presence of each other in favor of ephemeral screen images.

Pretend. Pretense.

 

Which reminds me: this morning, prior to walking, I watched approximately half of the following video. And will watch the other half late this afternoon. Unfortunately, if you abide by his assumptions, it simply makes way too much sense.

Note: I’ve never watched an Ismael Perez video before. So not sure just how seriously to take this video. Would rather not take it seriously.

But so much of what he claims lines up with various times I’ve scratched my head, re: Trump. Trying, as usual, to make whatever  puzzles me make sense within our usual (fading!) 3D space/time template.

If this video can be taken seriously, then what about Melania? Watch it, and you may ask that question too.

Hell. What about all of us? Are there multiple versions of each of us? Actors, doubles, clones, etc.? I do still doubt that. But with Trump (and other highly public figures), it actually makes sense to see him in terms of multiples: one set of images, actors, clones, doubles, etc. white hat, and the other set black hat, with telling them apart subject to continuous confusion — as designed.

BTW: Perez assumes the real Trump (though he is, supposedly, Trump.2 since 1989) has been for years in hiding, secreted off somewhere (Cheyenne Mountain?) unground, so DEW can’t get him. And that the Trump(s) we see — with their various heights, BTW — are all fake.

 

Clearly, it IS time to return to — begin to remember to place high value on — our actual, personal, authentic lived experience, and that includes not just ourselves, but our relationship with others in our lives.

For example, just this morning, on our walk. First, we stopped by neighbor Carisa’s house; she and her son Ollie had just driven up. We all chewed the fat for awhile. Then we walked on to the corner, where we ran into two other neighbors and their son, waiting for the bus to take him to school. Chewed the fat together until the bus came, all of us waving as one at the smiling bus driver.
